Elder Siyabonga Mkhize was named an Area Seventy and a member of the Third Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2023 general conference. Elder Mkhize has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission, branch president, counselor in a stake presidency, counselor in a bishopric, and counselor in the South Africa Durban Mission presidency. Elder Mkhize received a bachelor of law degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2013. From 2007 to 2013 he worked as a senior sales executive for General Motors. Since 2014 he has been an attorney and partner for Shepstone & Wylie Attorneys. Siyabonga Alfred Hubert Mkhize was born in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, on May 3, 1985. He married Tumeka Precious Pato in 2009. They are the parents of three children. Elder and Sister Mkhize reside in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
