The Church’s 2016 Christmas campaign encourages people to commit to one kind act a day throughout the month of December. It will encourage people to do as the Saviour taught, as they feed the hungry, care for the sick, play with children, and clothe the naked. The campaign will start with a worldwide day of service on 1 December.
With the video, the Church also launched a website that provides resources and ideas for those wanting to participate. The website contains specific ideas for participants to help those in need, such as phoning or visiting your parents, helping to clean a church building, reading to or running errands for an elderly person, and writing a letter of appreciation to someone.
People who participate are encouraged to use the hashtag #LIGHTtheWORLD on social media to share the positive actions they are taking to help others.
Each action included in the campaign is intended to reflect the love Jesus Christ has for His children and to promote Christlike behaviour during the Christmas season.
