This session will also include video appearances from people in their lives with inspiring stories, including a message from President Nelson.

Hear personal family stories from Church leaders. Brother Stephen Owen, Young Men general president, will share a personal and emotional family story about his daughter. Primary general president Sister Rosemary M. Wixom will also share stories about her family, as well as what she wants to do during the Millennium with her photos. Brother Owen and Sister Wixom will be the featured speakers at the family session.

The Renlund family will compare the explosive nature of dynamite with the equally powerful effect of combining family history work with attending the temple. The combination is an “explosive” experience. Learn how to arm yourself and your family with personal power as you understand and participate in the dual nature of the work of salvation.

Family Discovery Day on February 6 is especially designed for families and members of the Church ages eight and older. The messages and classes are designed to teach you how to find your ancestors, how to prepare names for temple ordinances, and how to teach others to do the same.

The Church hosts the one-day event held in Salt Lake City during RootsTech, the largest family history conference in the world, hosted by FamilySearch International, February 3–6, 2016.

Family groups and leaders of wards and stakes interested in hosting a local family history fair or family discovery day can learn more atlds.org/hostfair. To learn more about attending the live event, which is free, you need to register through RootsTech.org

If you can’t watch Family Discovery Day live, recorded sessions will also be archived at lds.org/discoverfamily for later viewing in the following languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
