HISTORY OF THE CHURCH IN CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC

1991: First known Church member living in Central African Republic Carol Forrest of the U.S. Peace Corps, a returned missionary, arrives and is set apart as a district missionary.

1992: 20 people are baptized. Two LDS Church branches are organized. Celestin N'Gakondou  is called as president of the Bangui 1st Branch, and Gaspard Lapet is called to preside over the Bangui 2nd Branch.

1993: The first full-time missionaries, Raymond and Christianne Fourtina, from Bordeaux, France, arrive. In July of that year, the Church receives legal recognition.

1995: Seminary program introduced.

2005 : The mission re-organised as part of the Ghana Cape coast mission.
